Wolves Premium TV follow up
After a couple of chase emails and then a phone call I got the following response. Lets hope they deliver.
I'll bet a pound to a penny that they are only refunding people's money if they complain, even though they should be able to tell from their log files which browser/operating system people are using and could batch refund all of those users.
Hi Merl
Thank you for contacting us.
Following the rapid growth of a range of video sharing websites over recent months, a significant volume of content which is provided on an exclusive basis to subscribers was being made freely available on the Internet. We have to have a solution that will satisfactorily safeguard the content for paying subscribers.
This has required us to DRM the content and due to changes made recently we are no longer able to support Apple / Mac products. Specifically Windows Media Player is longer supported on this platform and likewise IE6.0.
With regret therefore we have cancelled your subscription to Wolves World. We have now initiated a refund of £39.99 for the unused term of your subscription, the refund may take up to 7 days to complete and you should receive confirmation from our payment partner Netbanx shortly.
Best Regards,
Wolves World Customer Support

I was quite suprised to find they not only refunded my subscription, but they did it twice. Mind you the way the site performs I think I deserve it. :)

Hi Merl
I'm a Sheffield Wednesday fan in the same situation.
It's not fair!
My gripe is that I live in London and rely on Premium TV's monopolised BBC Radio Sheffield commentary. It's a little bit of 'home' left in my life!
Mac coverage has been cancelled due to economics. The technology is there. They just won't pay for it to include us Mac users. A guy at Premium Tv told me yesterday that there are only 317 Mac users in 100,000 customers. So they've just dropped us. He even said, 'Well, buy a PC'...!
As there is no other option online to listen to my games, I have to lump it. I won't accept this.
I've written to the BBC and to my club. I'll let you know their response (if you like?)
I'm bored of money men crawling all over our sport and this is a step too far.

I think their .003% Apple market share figure is a bit dubious. It doesn't mesh with Apples share in other areas at all - anything up to 6%, depending on who you believe, and growing. Also what about the people using a non IE browser, I suspect they'll have to re-evaluate their decision at some point.
If you're using one of the new Intel Macs you can run Windoze via Apples Boot Camp, or Parallels. VMware also have a beta of their virtualisation software available for the Intel Macs.
Big game for us today we have the Baggies to entertain.
